What are Cannabinoids?

Updated: Jul 14, 2022

Cannabinoids are a group of fatty compounds found in hemp, other plants, and even in the human body. There are over 480 different compounds present in the hemp plant. Cannabinoids from plants are referred to as phytocannabinoids and those produced by the human body are called endocannabinoids. Cannabinoids are key players in the functioning of the immune and central nervous systems.

Different cannabinoids have different effects depending on which receptors they bind to. Hemp naturally produces more than 85 different cannabinoids. Of these 85+ phytocannabinoids, cannabidiol (CBD) is the most widely known. Others include

cannabigerol (CBG), cannabichromene (CBC), cannabinol (CBN), and more. Scientists have found that these plant compounds have an effect on the body when they are combined, rather than alone. Our products include an assortment of hemp's cannabinoids, plus beneficial plant compounds like terpenes, flavonoids, and other valuable hemp compounds to support the body. It's more than just CBD.
